BlueThroat Studio is an independent software studio. It makes three desktop apps, Casement for Mac, Dealer Garage for used-car dealers and Clockgauge for team time tracking, each of which runs on your own computer, keeps its data there and is paid for once rather than by subscription.
What we make
We build focused desktop software for people who would rather own a tool than rent one. Each app solves one job well, runs on your own computer and does not need an account with us to do its everyday work.
- Casement adds Windows-style window management to the Mac: a Dock icon for every Chrome profile, snap layouts, hover to focus, an Option-Tab window switcher and more. Most of it is free.
- Dealer Garage is dealership software for independent used-car lots: inventory, costs, leads, deals, paperwork forms and reports, with a free plan and one-time Basic and Pro upgrades.
- Clockgauge tracks the time of employees and freelancers with consented screenshots and activity levels, and keeps the data on a computer you control.
How we think about software
Four ideas shape every product. They are the reason the apps look the way they do, and the reason some things you may expect are missing on purpose.
- Your computer, your data. Inventory, customer records, screenshots and settings are stored on machines you own. We do not keep a copy.
- Pay once. Paid features are one-time purchases. Where a yearly fee exists, as with Clockgauge updates for larger teams, it is optional and the app keeps working if you stop paying.
- Say what it records. Clockgauge shows a consent screen before anything is captured and lists what is never recorded. Casement does not ask for Screen Recording. Permissions are explained in plain language before you grant them.
- Tell the truth about alternatives. When we compare our apps with other tools or approaches we state facts and differences and leave the decision to you. If another tool suits you better, we would rather you used it.
Who the apps are for
Casement is for people who use a Mac with several Chrome profiles, several monitors or a Windows habit they miss. Dealer Garage is for independent used-car dealers in the United States and Canada, especially small lots that want software without a monthly bill. Clockgauge is for small teams, agencies and freelancers who bill or pay by the hour and want an honest, consent-based record of time.
We are a good fit when you value software that is quick, quiet and in your control. We are not a good fit when you need a cloud platform with dozens of integrations managed by a vendor; the comparison pages explain the trade-offs.
How we handle support
Real people read the support inbox. Use the support page or write to support@bluethroatstudio.com and tell us what you were doing, what you expected and what happened; a screenshot or the app version helps. Feedback sent from inside an app reaches the same inbox.
Guides, how-to pages and a FAQ cover the common questions, and every page says when it was last updated so you can judge how current it is.
Where to start
Pick the app that matches your problem, or browse by what is going wrong.
- Problems and fixes starts from the symptom.
- How to gives numbered steps for one job at a time.
- Pricing lists every price in one place.
- Security and privacy explains what each app stores, sends and never collects.
Questions people ask
Is BlueThroat Studio a large company?
No. It is an independent studio. That is why the apps are focused and why support replies come from the people who build them.
Do the apps need an internet connection?
Everyday use does not. Casement needs none after activation, Dealer Garage works offline except for online services such as VIN lookup, and Clockgauge keeps tracking offline and syncs later.
Where is my data stored?
On your own computers. Dealer Garage and Clockgauge keep their databases locally, and Casement keeps its settings on your Mac.
How do I contact you?
