BlueThroat

Services

We build software for clients.

BlueThroat Studio designs and builds software for businesses as a service. Casement, Dealer Garage and Clockgauge were made that way, for clients, and are now available to everyone.

What we build

Tools people use every day.

Most of our work is software that has to be right: records that must be accurate, paperwork that must match, hours that must add up.

Desktop apps

Mac and Windows apps that run on the client's own computer, keep working without a connection and keep data on the client's own disk.

Business tools

Inventory, customers, deals and paperwork. Time tracking, projects and payroll balances. The back office a business actually runs on.

Licensing and payments

One-time purchases and renewals, licences tied to an email address, checkout through Razorpay, and the admin side to see who bought what.

Secure by design

Encrypted connections between computers, encryption of stored files and secrets, accounts with roles, and backups protected by a password.

Connected where it helps

Email, listing sites, browser extensions and remote access for staff who work from home, built so the app does not depend on them to function.

Installers and updates

Signed, installable apps with update checks, and the website and support pages that go with them.

How a project works

Four steps, no surprises.

  1. Talk

You tell us the problem and who will use the software. We tell you plainly whether we are the right people to build it.

  2. Scope

We write down what it will do and what it will not, with a price and a timeline you can plan around.

  3. Build

You see working software early and often, and your people try it while it is still easy to change.

  4. Hand over

We install it, train the people who use it and stay on for fixes. Ownership and any wider use of the software are agreed up front.

Have something to build?

Send us a few lines about the problem. A person will reply, usually within a working day.
