Casement
What is Casement?
Casement is a menu-bar app for macOS 13 or later. It adds a Dock icon for each Google Chrome profile, snap layouts, hover-to-focus, an Option-Tab window switcher, Dock window lists, a drop shelf for sharing files and display controls.
How much does Casement cost?
Casement is free except for one feature: Chrome profile Dock icons, which cost $9 once for up to three Macs, with a 7-day free trial. Layouts, hover to focus, the window switcher, Dock window lists, the drop shelf and display control are free.
How do I put a Chrome profile in the Mac Dock?
Install Casement, allow Accessibility, open Chrome profiles from its menu-bar icon and tick the profiles you want. Each gets its own Dock icon with the profile's photo, and clicking it returns to that profile's open window.
Why does Casement need Accessibility permission?
macOS only lets an app see, move and focus other apps' windows with that permission. Casement does not need Screen Recording and does not capture window contents.
Does Casement work on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs?
Yes. It is a universal app for macOS 13 Ventura and later and is signed and notarised by Apple.
Does Casement conflict with macOS tiling?
Both react when a window is dragged to a screen edge, so turn off "Drag windows to screen edges to tile" in System Settings, Desktop & Dock, and let Casement handle it.
How much memory does Casement use?
About 45 MB, with no timers that poll in the background. It reacts only when you move the pointer, drag a window or press a shortcut.
What happens when the Chrome profile trial ends?
The profile icons are removed from the Dock and everything else keeps working for free. Buying the licence brings them back.
Dealer Garage
What is Dealer Garage?
Dealer Garage is installable dealership software for independent used-car dealers in the US and Canada. It manages inventory, leads, customers, deals, dealer paperwork, a garage register, Facebook Marketplace posting and email campaigns, with data stored on the dealership's own computer.
How much does Dealer Garage cost?
Dealer Garage has a free plan, a Basic plan for $99 paid once and a Pro plan for $149 paid once. There are no monthly fees or per-user charges.
What is in the free plan?
Inventory with photos and cost tracking, customers, vendors, deals, most paperwork forms, manual leads, the calendar, the dashboard, the payment calculator and backup and restore.
What does the Basic plan add?
Listing-site lead sync by email, online forms (a financing application and stock list on your office network), the bill of sale from a deal, the garage register, Facebook Marketplace posting and email campaigns.
What does the Pro plan add?
Everything in Basic plus the ability to install on more than one computer, with seat keys for each staff machine, and browser access on your office network.
Does Dealer Garage work without the internet?
Yes. Inventory, leads, deals, forms and the calculator work offline. Only VIN decoding, licence activation, lead mail checks, Marketplace posting and sending email need a connection.
Which paperwork does Dealer Garage include?
About 50 forms for each Canadian province and territory and 47 for the United States, covering test drives, credit, bill of sale, odometer, financing, add-ons, wholesale, service and customer letters, including regional forms such as the AMVIC and VSA disclosures and the FTC Buyer's Guide.
Where is my data stored?
In a database file on the computer where Dealer Garage is installed, with photos and documents beside it. Nothing is uploaded unless you use an online feature such as Marketplace posting or email.
Does Dealer Garage import my existing inventory?
Not at the moment. Vehicles are added one at a time, with VIN decoding filling in most details.
Is Dealer Garage available for Windows?
Yes. It runs on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and on Windows 10 and 11.
Clockgauge
What is Clockgauge?
Clockgauge is an employee and freelancer time tracker that runs on your own computer. It has timers, optional consented screenshots, activity levels, clients, projects and tasks, budgets, payroll balances and reports, and it is paid for once instead of per user per month.
How much does Clockgauge cost?
It is free for one host and one employee. The paid plan is $199 once and includes the first year of the 20-person plan; after that it is $20 a year for up to 20 people or $100 a year for up to 100. Remote access is included, and nothing is switched off if you stop paying the yearly fee.
Does Clockgauge record keystrokes?
No. It records how much people type, click and scroll as counts per minute, never what they type. It also never records passwords, audio or video of calls, or anything while the timer is stopped.
How do screenshots work?
While a timer runs, Clockgauge takes one to three screenshots in each ten-minute window (two by default) at random moments, notifies the employee each time and can blur text. They are stored encrypted on the host computer and deleted automatically after a set number of days.
Where is the data stored?
On the Host computer in your own data folder, not on our servers. Screenshots and activity travel directly from the employee's computer to the Host over an encrypted channel.
Can employees work from home?
Yes. They connect with a company name and a one-time code, with no VPN or router changes. A small matchmaking service introduces the computers and then steps aside.
Do employees consent?
Yes. Before the first timer, the employee app shows exactly what is and is not recorded and requires agreement. Employees start and stop their own timer and are notified of every screenshot.
What platforms does Clockgauge run on?
Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). Staff can use different systems: a Mac Host works with Windows employee apps and the other way round.
Can managers log in from anywhere?
The dashboard runs on the Host computer. Remote manager access is not built in yet.
Does Clockgauge handle payroll?
It tracks hours, hourly rates, what each person has earned and been paid, and what is unpaid, with holds and CSV export. It does not move money or calculate tax.
