The macOS share menu lists services that are enabled as Sharing extensions. Open System Settings, Privacy & Security, Extensions, Sharing and tick the ones you want. Apps you install may also need a restart before their share target appears.
Steps
- Open System Settings.
- Go to Privacy & Security, then Extensions, then Sharing.
- Tick the services you want and untick the ones you never use.
If an app still does not appear
- Quit and reopen the app that provides the target.
- Check that the app is in the Applications folder.
- Some apps add share support only in newer versions.
Casement's drop shelf
The drop shelf lists the same services, so changing them here changes the shelf. See the drop shelf.
Why an app may not offer sharing
Sharing is a separate extension that an app must include. Older apps and some utilities do not have one. In that case you can still use Copy and Paste, drag the file into the app, or use the app's own Share button.
Reset a stuck list
If a service is ticked but still missing, untick it, wait a few seconds and tick it again. Restarting Finder (Option-right-click its Dock icon, then Relaunch) also refreshes the list in many cases.
Questions people ask
Why is the list different on each Mac?
It depends on which apps are installed and which extensions are on.
