Dealer Garage Use case

Dealer Garage for lots with unreliable internet

The outage is somebody else's problem.

Short answer

Dealer Garage stores records on the dealership's computer, so inventory, leads, deals, calculators and forms keep working when the internet is down. Only VIN decoding, licence activation, Marketplace posting, lead mail checks and sending email need a connection, and they catch up when it returns.

What keeps working

Everything you do at the desk: building deals, printing paperwork, searching customers and recording costs. See works offline.

What waits

  • Decode a VIN: enter the details by hand, or decode later.
  • New lead emails: they are picked up when the connection returns.
  • Marketplace posting: continue when you are back online.

Setting up for a poor connection

  • Keep Dealer Garage's backups local; do not depend on cloud storage during an outage.
  • Decode VINs and post to Marketplace in batches when the connection is good.
  • Check lead mail a few times a day.
