If the employee app cannot reach the Host, the timer keeps running and the app stores each minute and screenshot in an encrypted local queue. When it can connect again it sends everything in order. The employee sees that the app is offline and how much is waiting.
What the employee sees
A status line shows whether the app is connected and by which route, and how many items are queued. It does not nag.
What is queued
- Session start and stop times.
- Per-minute activity counts and the active app.
- Screenshots, encrypted.
Safe to resend
The Host accepts the same minute more than once without double counting, so retries are harmless. If the project is paused for budget while the person was offline, the Host says so when the data arrives.
An example
A person starts work on a train, loses signal for 40 minutes and regains it at their desk. The timer ran throughout; screenshots were saved to the queue; at the desk the app connects and delivers it all. The manager sees the full morning with no gap.
Questions people ask
Is the queue protected?
Yes. The queue is encrypted on the employee's computer.
How long can it stay offline?
It stores data until it can send it; very long periods depend on disk space.
