Set each freelancer's hourly rate, review their tracked time and activity for the pay period, pay them through your bank or payroll provider, and record the payment in Clockgauge so earned, paid and unpaid always add up. Handle disputed hours by putting that amount on hold rather than editing history.
Weekly routine
- Open Reports for the period, grouped by person.
- Review the totals and any flagged minutes.
- Open Payroll and check each person's earned amount.
- Pay outside Clockgauge, then click Mark as paid and confirm the amount.
- If you only pay part, enter that amount; the balance remains.
Disputes and holds
If hours are in question, put the payment on hold with a note, resolve it, then pay. Cancelled payments are kept as a record.
Rate changes
Change a rate from a date forward. Earlier hours keep the old rate.
Agreeing terms with a freelancer
- The hourly rate and when it changes.
- How time is recorded: their timer on assigned projects.
- What is not paid: time off the timer.
- The pay schedule and the method.
