Short answer

Clockgauge runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). The employee app installs per user without administrator rights, needs no screen-recording permission step, and connects with a company name and a one-time code. The Host on the office PC asks Windows Firewall for permission on your private network. Mac and Windows computers can be mixed in one team.

Installing

  1. Run the installer. The employee app installs for the current user, so it needs no administrator password.
  2. The Host installer lets you choose the folder.
  3. Open the app, enter the code you were given, read what is recorded and agree.

Both installers are not yet signed with a publisher certificate, so Windows SmartScreen may show "Windows protected your PC". Choose More info, then Run anyway.

The Host and Windows Firewall

The first time the Host starts, Windows asks whether it may accept connections. Choose Allow on private networks so staff in the office can reach it. Staff working from home connect through the company name and do not depend on this.

Mixed teams

A Mac Host works with Windows employee apps and the other way round. Pairing, screenshots and reports are the same. See the work-from-home setup guide.

Questions people ask

Does the timer keep working when the window is closed?

Yes. Closing the window hides it to the notification area; the timer keeps running until you stop it or quit.

Does it need administrator rights?

The employee app does not. The Host asks Windows Firewall for permission on first start.
