Short answer

Clockgauge stores each person's screenshots in a folder like 007_Asha Verma, organised by date, on the Host computer (or a folder you choose). They are encrypted on disk. After a retention period you set, 30 days by default, they are deleted automatically.

Folder layout

Screenshots live under the screenshots folder in a subfolder per person, named with their number and name, then a subfolder per day. You can move the screenshots folder to another drive from the Host.

Retention

Choose how many days to keep screenshots in Settings. A regular tidy removes older ones. Shorter retention means less personal data held, which supports privacy obligations.

Viewing and deleting

Browse a day on the Screenshots page with a timeline of the session. Open one, move with the arrow keys, show the file in Finder, or delete it.

Choosing a retention period

Shorter is better for privacy and storage; longer helps if you need to resolve a billing dispute after the fact. Many teams choose two to four weeks. Whatever you choose, say it in your policy.

Disk space

Screenshots are compressed images. A team of ten with two screenshots per ten minutes for eight hours produces about 960 a day; at typical sizes that is on the order of hundreds of megabytes a week, so check your disk when you extend retention.

Questions people ask

Can I keep them forever?

You can set a long retention period, but we suggest keeping only what you need.

Are files readable in Finder?

They are encrypted on disk. "Show in Finder" opens temporary readable copies that are deleted after twenty minutes.
