Each project in Clockgauge can be open to everyone or assigned to specific people. Employees see only their assigned projects in the app and the host refuses time logged to a project they are not on. Combined with the rule that a project and a task must be chosen, it keeps timesheets trustworthy.
How to assign
- Open Clients & projects.
- On a project card, choose Assign next to Who can track on it.
- Tick "Everyone" or pick people, and save.
New projects start with nobody assigned unless you pick people when creating them.
What happens
- The project appears in the chosen employees' app and not in others'.
- If you remove someone while their timer is running on it, the timer stops.
- The Host enforces it, so an altered app cannot log time to a project it is not assigned to.
Why it matters
If everyone can pick any project, time drifts into the wrong buckets and client reports lose meaning. Assignment keeps client and project reports reliable.
A typical setup
A web agency has three client projects and an internal one. Each client project is assigned to the two or three people working on it; the internal project is open to everyone. A designer who opens the app sees her projects only, and cannot log time to a project she is not on, even by mistake.
Questions people ask
Can a manager see all projects?
Managers see everything in reports; assignment controls what employees can track on.
