In Dealer Garage, open a deal and generate the bill of sale as a PDF. Buyer, vehicle, price, taxes, fees and total come from the deal. There is a template for each Canadian province and territory and for the United States, including an Ontario UCDA-style bill of sale. Bill of sale generation is part of the Basic plan.
What goes on it
- Seller (the dealership) and buyer details.
- Vehicle: year, make, model, VIN, mileage and stock number.
- The price, itemised fees and warranties, trade-in, taxes, deposit and balance.
- Signature lines for buyer and dealer.
Region templates
Choose your region in Settings and Dealer Garage uses that region's form set. Ontario has a UCDA bill of sale template, and Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec have their own disclosure or registration forms alongside it. See dealer paperwork by region.
The usual flow
- Create the deal and enter the figures.
- Generate the bill of sale PDF.
- Print it, have the buyer sign, and file a copy.
Check what your region requires
A bill of sale has to satisfy your local rules, which can specify content and a prescribed form. Dealer Garage supplies templates; you are responsible for confirming they meet current requirements. See what goes on a bill of sale.
Before you print
- Check the buyer's name and address match their ID.
- Confirm the VIN and odometer against the car.
- Make sure the taxes and fees on the deal match what you told the buyer.
After they sign
Give the buyer a copy, file the signed original with the deal, and scan it into the document drive if you keep digital copies. Use the deal jacket checklist to make sure nothing is missing.
